Wandering Wonders

My journey to Seoul, in South Korea, was nothing short of majestic — and yet, beautifully bittersweet.

The land itself feels like poetry in motion: mountains rising gently beyond glass towers, ancient palaces resting beside neon lights. The people carry a quiet grace, and the culture hums with vibrancy — alive in its traditions, its artistry, its relentless spirit.

And yet, as enchanting as it was, there were moments that tested us. In a country so technologically advanced, the simplest conveniences felt just out of reach for a foreign traveler. Commutes became puzzles, food deliveries a challenge, and booking a simple ride — even to a hospital or restaurant — turned unexpectedly daunting. Our journey to and from the airport carried its own strain, a reminder that global brilliance still leaves room to grow in accessibility.

But then came the warmth of Korean BBQ — smoke curling into the night air, laughter rising from shared tables — and suddenly, every inconvenience softened. The flavors, the music drifting from cafés, the unmistakable pulse of K-culture — it all lingered long after we left. From the captivating worlds of K-dramas to the magnetic energy of K-pop and the global phenomenon of Korean entertainment, the country speaks a language of creativity that transcends borders.

Despite the challenges, something about Korea calls me back — not perfectly polished, but deeply alive. And I know, without hesitation, I will return to Seoul again.

I visited Italy for a few days in 2025, staying mostly in Venice and Pisa. Venice felt like a fairy tale — a city on water where boats replace streets, intimate and serene. Visiting Murano and Burano added bursts of color and charm that hypnotized me, matched only by the warmth of the people.

By coincidence, a Hollywood festival was happening during our stay, making parts of the city crowded and a little overwhelming — yet it never dulled our delight in Italy’s delights: fresh seafood, creamy gelatos, and the simple joy of being there.

Switzerland is truly heaven on Earth. My first stop was Basel, before we headed into the fairy-tale landscapes of Lauterbrunnen Valley and stayed beside the turquoise waters of Lake Brienz. Everywhere we looked was like a living painting — surreal, breathtaking, and almost too beautiful to believe. 

Two days in a cosy lakeside cottage, pizzas and ice cream in Lauterbrunnen, left us mesmerised by nature’s grandeur and the warmth of simple moments. From dramatic waterfalls and soaring peaks to peaceful lakeside mornings, every scene felt like a dream. 

We later wandered through Zürich, enjoying a stroll down its elegant fashion street, a perfect balance of urban charm after days amid alpine splendor. 

Switzerland’s beauty is powerful and divine — a place that truly feels like a gift from God. I must return and witness its magic again.

I’ve visited France many times, and having lived in Paris, I can say the city — and the country — have deep layers you uncover with time. Paris is timeless: from its exquisite cuisine and world-renowned fashion scene to charming French pharmacies, lively city streets, and storybook villages beyond. The food culture alone is a journey in itself, woven into every café, bistro, and patisserie you wander into. 

For fashion lovers, the high-end streets are pure magic — a gift of style and creativity that defines the city. Paris remains one of the great centers of haute couture, setting trends and inspiring admirers from all over the world. 

Families will always find joy here too. Disneyland Paris is a beloved escape where kids delight in enchanting worlds and timeless characters, adding an extra sparkle to any visit. 

Even after climbing the great Eiffel Tower, we found ourselves chasing clouds in a hot air balloon — because in France, there’s always one more wonder worth breathing in. No matter how many times you return, France keeps inviting you back with new flavors, new streets to stroll, and countless moments to cherish.

During my visit to Amsterdam, I was captivated by the charming canals, colorful houses, and lively streets full of culture and history. A short trip brought me to Zaanse Schans, where traditional windmills, wooden houses, and artisan workshops offered a glimpse into Dutch life of the past. From tasting local cheeses to watching craftsmen at work, the experience was a perfect blend of scenic beauty and cultural heritage.

My visit to the United Kingdom was an unforgettable journey through history and modern culture. From the iconic streets of London with its bustling markets and historic landmarks, to the serene landscapes of the Lake District, every corner offered something unique. I explored ancient castles, charming villages, and vibrant cultural scenes, savoring traditional dishes along the way. The trip was a perfect blend of tradition, innovation, and picturesque scenery.

During my visit to Luxembourg, I was enchanted by its blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. The capital, Luxembourg City, wowed me with its stunning old town, dramatic cliffs, and charming streets lined with cafés. Exploring the surrounding countryside, I discovered quaint villages, lush valleys, and scenic rivers that made every moment peaceful and picturesque. The trip was a perfect mix of urban charm and serene landscapes.

My visit to the United Arab Emirates was a fascinating mix of modern marvels and rich traditions. In Dubai, I was amazed by towering skyscrapers, luxurious malls, and the iconic Burj Khalifa, while the desert offered a serene escape with golden dunes and traditional Bedouin experiences. Exploring Abu Dhabi, I admired stunning architecture, cultural landmarks, and vibrant souks. The trip perfectly showcased the UAE’s dynamic blend of innovation, luxury, and heritage.

My visit to South Africa was an incredible adventure filled with breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture. From the bustling streets of Cape Town with its stunning Table Mountain views to the wildlife safaris in Kruger National Park, every moment was unforgettable. I explored scenic coastlines, charming towns, and rich local traditions, experiencing the warmth and diversity that make South Africa so unique.
